Not so far ago, six years ago, when we were not sure how artificial intelligence would enter our lives, we were talking about Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg’s approaches to artificial intelligence, and there was even a serious community that was afraid of whether artificial intelligence would bring about our end. They are not as big, we are now familiar with AI.
I've talked to Mark about this. His understanding of the subject is limited.
While the leaders of technology were discussing artificial intelligence, its concept and possible effects, OpenAI’s ChatGPT product was made available to everyone one morning and we met him, sometimes asking him everyday questions like what should I eat tonight, sometimes asking him to solve difficult problems, and sometimes expecting him to tell the secrets of the universe.
Today, we have become familiar with the concept of artificial intelligence in a short time, which we were not sure how it would meet us in 2017, so much so that now there is a very serious community that asks daily questions to ChatGPT instead of Google. There is talk of a Google VS ChatGPT competition, whereas a year ago there was no competition. And didn’t we say that Google is the greatest product that is perfect in everything and has its place?
ChatGPT is currently one of the fastest products in the world to reach 1 million users. Also, when discussing the competition with Google, I want you to take a look at this metrics;
The biggest product that users tend to visit directly is currently Google and then ChatGPT, so people are bypassing Google but visiting the ChatGPT website directly from their browser, for a product that has such a large number of users so far this is only Google. It was a unique metric.
Yes, the entry of artificial intelligence into our lives was not that scary despite the jaw-dropping scenarios written by the marginals.
Today, we use it in almost every field and receive professional support. Currently, this technology will be a unique supporter in future medicine, tech production and discoveries, and the internet revolution we are experiencing after the industrial revolution. It is predicted that it will suddenly take us hundreds of years forward, in fact, we are living through that transition period even though we are not aware of it right now.
So how will artificial intelligence products, which are perhaps the most talented and interesting product that humanity has ever created, the only product with intelligence, and a product that changes and renews itself every day, will affect our future digital product development processes and digital products?
I think the artificial intelligence, to which we constantly present the knowledge we have in the history of humanity and the history of the internet, which is exposed to questions by millions of users every day, and of course, is also fed and developed, will create digital products according to its own analyzes and needs, not in the distant future, but very soon. I think this process will proceed step by step and will be as follows;
Product development and product management capability phases of artificial intelligence;
Phase 1 (Supportive AI) [we are currently experiencing this]
In this phase, it supports us to develop our products, provides resources, produces fast output in many areas. Simply put, I produced the visual of this text with Generative AI.
Research & Ideation (Currently doing this)
Producing Support Materials in Product Development (done with Generative AI)
Management & Task Assignment (Currently doing this partially)
Phase 2 (Hybrid AI Product & Software Leader)
Analyzing the market, deciding on the product that is needed and that can be developed, and assigning tasks to the software developers by creating tasks and working hybridly with the software developers, imagine that you are actually an AI project manager and software leader. Currently, there is no terminological name for this.
Phase 3 (Fully AI Based Product Management & Development)
Developing this product without the need for any human resources, we can call it Fully AI Based Development, imagine sending an application to the market without the need for any product manager, software developer or designer.
